The program delves into the cinematographer's
essential role in transforming screenplays into cinematic reality. It's a
highly practical oriented program that equips students with hands-on experience
using professional cinema equipment. In addition to developing their technical
skills, students gain a solid foundation in film history and analysis. The
course has in depth input into fiction and nonfiction storytelling. The course
culminates in a short fiction thesis film project, where students apply their
knowledge and skills to create a compelling visual narrative.
During the course, the student learns lighting
techniques of increasing complexity and advanced practices. Learning is
facilitated through progressive instructions using digital cameras.
